Much of our work at Web Experts involves exploring what emerging technology can do for our clients.
One client asked us a particularly interesting question: What could we create with a frontier AI model, more than one billion tokens, and Unreal Engine?
We decided to find out.
After an intensive experimental sprint involving 97 playable builds, the result was The Battle of ATL—an independent Mac game set around Midtown, Piedmont Park, and Atlanta’s most popular bike path.
We combined real map information, elevation data, aerial imagery, photographs, and local knowledge to create a recognizable Atlanta environment. We then developed bicycle physics, character movement, traffic, pedestrians, timed objectives, interactive encounters, music, and a complete gameplay loop.
The project tested how effectively a frontier model could work across an entire production process: research, game logic, interface design, debugging, testing, packaging, website development, and preparation for Apple TestFlight.
The model accelerated the work, but human direction remained essential. Every playable build produced new feedback about how the bicycle handled, whether the terrain felt accurate, how the characters moved, and whether the game was actually fun.
What came out of the sprint was more than a technical demonstration. It was a working video game that people can install, play, and help us improve.
Most Web Experts clients will never ask us to build a video game. The larger lesson applies to any ambitious digital idea: frontier AI can help turn a concept into something real enough to test much faster than traditional development alone.
